Sundar C’s mega budget has been in the news for a long time. Reportedly it will be a period drama by the name Sanghamitra. Now here’s what you really know. Sanghamitra is actually the name of Emperor Akbar’s eldest daughter. So, looks like a female character will play a pivotal role. And guess who is speculated to have been approached? None other than Deepika Padukone!

There have been no confirmations so far but the latest reports suggest that the Piku actor might just make a comeback into Tamil films with this movie after her last stint with Kochadiiyaan in 2014. In other news, Vijay was approached for this big project but since he had to allot almost 200 days for the film, he declined the offer. Some reports state that the debacle of Puli may have just made him more conscious.

There were other rumours that Mahesh Babu has been approached for the Telugu version while Jayam Ravi has been approached for the Tamil. As the movie is going to be tri lingual, they are looking at different heroes for each of the versions. While the cast is yet to be finalised. AR Rahman has been finalised for the music, and Baahubali director Sabu Cyril has been roped in too.

The movie is reportedly being made on a whopping budget of Rs 350 crores. Apparently it’s going to cross even Baahubali and Enthiran’s budgets. According to a leading daily, Sundar C will be making his announcement very soon and is promising a big and fantastic cast. Well, we are waiting! In other news, Deepika is prepping for Padmavati based on the real queen Padmavati. The movie will be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This will be her third film with her.
